With a reported top speed of 19 knots and a cruise speed of 15 knots thanks to Caterpillar C32 diesels, Gigi II was commissioned by a couple who likes taking family and friends out cruising. The nearly wrap-around windows mean there’s abundant light inside for parties. There are also good alfresco spaces offered on the main and upper decks, each feeling larger than you’d expect for a yacht of her size.

Each of Gigi II’s three guest staterooms is equipped with a king-size bed. Yes, you read that right: three, not four, guest staterooms, and all kings aboard a 125-footer. They can convert to twins if needed, of course. But guest comfort was a major driving factor from the start, especially since the yacht will be available for charter. Initial configurations with five and even six total staterooms, including the master, were scrapped in favor of this layout. Speaking of Gigi II’s master, the zebrano wood flanking the upholstered headboard and adorning the nightstands as well as the base of the bed make the sleeping area the center of attention. Note, too, the three ports, mimicked on the opposite side of the full-beam suite. Naturally, Gigi II has a his-and-her head, too, just visible beyond the bed, with the shower in the centre.

Whether hosting big gatherings or enjoying time by themselves, the owners of Gigi II have a variety of outdoor options. The main aft deck has nearly eight feet of headroom, enhancing the already big feel that Hargrave’s naval-architecture team gave the area. The space is ideal for cocktails or, thanks to an aft table and settee, breakfast in a private anchorage.
